“I didn’t set out to build a business. I set out to be there for my daughter.”



After 20 years working as an Executive Assistant across sectors like property, education, retail and local government, I knew how to manage pressure. I was the go-to for inboxes, diaries, board packs and back-to-backs. But when my daughter needed me more than my employer did, I realised something had to give.

So I stepped away from employment and started The Liverpool VA — or LiVA for short. I didn’t have a grand plan at first. I just wanted to create flexibility for my family and do work that mattered.

Very quickly, that solo venture became something more. I began working with brilliant clients who didn’t just need admin support - they needed clarity, structure, someone to lean on. And I became that person.
​
Years later, life shifted again when I became Nana Jo. That same pull toward family came back into focus - and I knew it was time to evolve again.
If I wanted to keep showing up for my clients and my family, I couldn’t do it all myself. So I built a team that could do it together.
